Here chickies!

Tina and Lonnie Melvin have chickens and one recently hatched chickies. They let us come over so Alaina could see the babies. They were so cute and little and fuzzy! They even let her feed the chickens. Alaina had such a good time feeding them and as she threw the food yelled "Here chikies, here chickies". It was really fun.

Go Miners!

Last weekend was the home opener of the Miners baseball team. We all went and had a great time. Mom even caught a ball! To top it all off, the Miners won!

Congrats Macy!

Macy recently had her 8th grade Promotion ceremony and we were able to attend. Congrats Macy and good luck in High School!

"Inland Hurricane"

It wasn't actually an inland hurricane, it was a storm called a deroche. But nonetheless, it was a bad storm. Alaina and Dad and I enjoyed it from the front porch. The first part of the storm brought rain so hard it flooded the street, then came the winds that knocked down the trees and power lines.

Goodnight sweetheart

Alaina loves loves flashlights. She likes taking them to bed and reading her books by the light of the flashlight. One night she had her little pink flashlight and while she was supposed to be going to sleep I hear her say, goodnight sweetheart. I looked over and she had tucked her pink flashlight in under her favorite blankie. A different night, she had Gramma's hippo flashlight and I hear her say, there nice and cozy. I looked over and this time saw the hippo tucked in. She fell asleep with both of her flashlights tucked in. It was really sweet.

Djibouti is the country

Allen has been in Djibouti for a few weeks now. He is really living a rough life, being forced to do things like eat lobster and prime rib, play beach volleyball, swim in an indoor pool and meet celebrities!(Yes, that is him with Christian Slater!) He really is doing very well, he likes his job and he will get to travel periodically to other countries like Kenya and Nairobi. He works on a base in a regular office and lives in an air conditioned trailer. Alaina and I are so proud of him. Alaina talks about him all the time and tells people that her Daddy is in Djibouti and that Djibouti is the country. We miss him very much and can't wait for him to come home.
